God is not in total control. It’s not a play on words or yet another a theological maneuvering like we’ve all become so used to, but rather I mean what I say. God has little control in this world.
Period. Very little in fact.
For that matter Jesus made it sound like He is not even here. He said He “traveled to a far away country” (Matthew 25:14-30) and left US in control, thus WE must “occupy until He returns” (Luke 19:13).
What IS in fact in total control is the mechanisms, the physics, the Divine-built machine that He made.
God did not make you. ….nor me.
Your parents did.
My parents did.
…with the bodily equipment He made available. They made a CHOICE to make us, using what His design gave them.
God does not heal people.
YOU do.
I do.
…with the power He made available. We make a CHOICE to believe or not to believe and to thus see, or not see, healings happen at our hands, from the design He gave us access to (Jesus’ atonement and stripes).
God does not grow food.
The earth does.
We do.
….with the soil, rain, seed, etc that He made available. We make a CHOICE to plant that seed, or to seek food in the wild, or not.
God made this world and then turned it TOTALLY over to Man (Psalms 115:16). And, we were even given helpers to help run this place (angels). The angels listen to us and do not do anything unless one of us gods of the earth (Jesus’ words not mine) releases them to do it. He sent His Spirit into the world to work with, and to dwell within the inner natures of, those who would CHOOSE to take advantage of His provisions.
Our world is purely mechanical. TOTALLY mechanical. If it wasn’t then it’d be chaos. We have missed the genius of God for the comfort of God. The world is cold, thus WE must make it warm… using the supernatural tools He gave us.
And, if WE allow Him to, then He can move on our behalf. This “Allowing Him to” is what we call “unwavering faith”. It is a portal between worlds that allows a Spirit-God to invade this world.
See my point now?
Until one can see this, they will always have confusion, and thus doubt, about their place and His place in the grand scheme of things and thus will have erratic, wavering faith.
My faith is strong because i KNOW the Father is not in control, so I seek to discipline my heart into something that CAN believe Him into this world that needs His touch so badly.
Yes, this means there is lots and lots of pressure on us. And, weak, dishonest, entitled, selfish people cannot accept this and thus default back into fantasy mindedness where “God is in total control and they thus have Nothing to worry about”. It is an opiate from Hell. And, one that we must wipe off the face of the earth so He can have free reign, and total control in the earth (through us).
1) “The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.” Psalms 115:16
2) And, Matthew 17:16-17 (if God was in control then the disciples would have got the boy healed. It was God’s will and yet – because He has to work through men to heal and those men were being “unbelieving and perverted” – they boy did not get healed. …So, someone who had the faith to get it done stepped up and got God’s will done (Jesus was that person in that case, but many times I or another have been in that same spot). So, so much for “total sovereignty”.
3) Matthew 21:21; James 1:6; etc (IF *WE* can believe without doubt, THEN the Kingdom will manifest in our midst). That puts the one who is believing without doubting, in control of the situation. (I, and many here, have done it thousands of times so it’s not theory)
Oh, one more thing:
If you believe God is in total control, please stay away from atheists. They don’t need to hear another young Christian telling them that God rapes and murders little children. It does not help the Kingdom’s cause.
John 10:10 is a good place to start.
–God is good.
–The bible is not lying, there really is a war going on.
–Christ rules the earth through His Body.
–IF we believe, then God’s glory gets to manifest.
